Chicago Blackhawks’ Good, Bad And Ugly Through First 7 Games

Chicago Blackhawks are lighting the lamp, but the special teams continue to struggle

From the beginning, the Chicago Blackhawks have already been through a roller coaster of a stretch.

The team compiled a 3-3-1 record behind a good game, but also some pretty rough play. As such, let's take a look at the good, the bad and the ugly of the first seven tilts of the Blackhawks.

Good

Offense catches fire. After a slow start, the attack of the Chicago Blackhawks sprang to life, scoring 20 goals in the last five games. With 22 points in six games, Patrick Kane, Artem Anisimov and Artemi Panarin keep pouring it on.

Anisimov scored twice against Toronto and one point five consecutive victories; Kane shares the lead in the league with six assists; Panarin and released two multi-point games.

Winger Richard Panik has exceeded all expectations, the pace of the NHL with six goals and leading the team with 16 hits. Rookie Tyler Motte 4 points, scoring a goal in each of the last gambling games.

Defense jumps. The Blackhawks tend to win when the defense forces the pace and joined the rush. Most of the invisible time before Saturday's win, Brian Campbell is making an impact with three assists against the Maple Leafs and a goal without help against the Flames last night.

six Duncan Keith also helps split the head of the league, and the passing skills of Brent Seabrook sparked the win 7-4 'Hawks' on the Flyers. talented young Gustav Forsling finally got rewarded offensively, scoring his first NHL assist against the Maple Leafs.

Third heroic period. Nothing beats the rush of a third period rally, as vividly shown in recent wins over the Flyers and Maple Leafs. Consider this: Without these histrionics in the third period, the Chicago Blackhawks could easily be 1-5-1 in seven games.

The bad

minutes and surname. The Blackhawks have shown a disturbing tendency to give up critical goals very late or very early in the period, which ranged momentum against them. In the season opener, St. Louis tied the game late in the second period and then scored the winning goal 55 seconds into the third.

Late and early goals of the period caused back rallies for both predators and Flyers, and put the Maple Leafs ahead 3-2 in this game. The Blackhawks need to strengthen this aspect of their game.

The games are won or lost focus. At 60 percent, Jonathan Toews jersey leads Blackhawks all centers in faceoff percentage win. While Marcus Kruger is rounded quickly return a form to 50 percent, the prolific scoring Anisimov was offset by his horrible score 35 percent dowry. Winning is put into play a crucial statistic that carries a huge influence on the final score of the game.

Anemic power play. The powerplay Blackhawks underperformed, converting only 5 of 26 attempts for 19 percent of success. The PP Chicago is 0 8 and 0 on the road 8 in the last two home games. the area and time zone entries are improving, but the Hawks need to put more shots on goal. Winning or losing often turns on the success, or failure, of the numerical advantage.

The ugly one

penalty kill. The rapidly growing number of goals given by the PK Blackhawks begins to resemble the ticker of the national debt. Killing only 12 of 26 chances, PK Hawks ranks last in the league, and is the biggest obstacle to the performance of the team.
